ASCII data is available in various coordinate systems including Solar Magnetospheric(GSM), Solar Ecliptic(GSE), Solar Magnetic(SM), Field Aligned Current (FAC), and spacecraft. Data may be retrieved for the observed field or one of two model fields, or you may retrieve the residual of the observed field and one of the model fields.

Time Format
All data are displayed in UTC. (Note: Prior to June 2004, this data server used International Atomic Time (TAI) for data collected in 2000 and onward. TAI differs from UTC by fixed increments where a leap second occurs. On JAN 1 2000, a time in TAI could be converted to UTC by subtracting 32 seconds. Due to the load on our system, you may only request 1 month of low resolution data at a time.

Please note: there are gaps in the data. We suggest you first plot a day of data and then narrow your time selection to time periods containing data.

Once you submit this form, you may experience an occasional server error, or a broken link. This may be due to the presence of a data gap or some data error. Try expanding your time selection if you experience such problems.

1 X to sun; X-Z plane contains dipole axis; Y roughly opposite planetary motion.
2 X to sun; Z along ecliptice pole; Y opposite planetary motion.
3 Z along Earth's dipole; X-Z plane contains solar directions; Y roughly opposite planetary motion.
4 Y-axis is eastward parallel to the direction of the cross product ofthe model magnetic field and the outward vector from the earth to the spacecraft; z-axis is along the direction of the model magnetic field and the x-axis forms a a right-handed set being usually in the outward direction.
5 Z along spin axis; X along projection of solar direction in spin plane.
